It tastes like a blue!

Here is the backstory:

A Friday evening at Taco Bell after a long day at work with a friend. Nothing unusual here, typical simple evening with cheap food. Move forward twenty minutes to when the high school students arrive before/after their movie at the local theatre. Of course we have the luck of having them sit next to us.
Now this is where it gets interesting. One of those geniuses got a cup of the Mountain Dew Baja Blast (the Taco Bell exclusive drink) and took a sip. This is where it gets ugly. Quote: “Dude it tastes like a blue slushie without the slushie!”

Is this what we have come to as a country where the typical high school student can’t even describe a soda properly. Take what the kid said and break it down:

It tastes like a blue slushie - slushie = “IT TASTES LIKE A BLUE

Granted, this is if you take the general approach I learned quite some time ago in my Logic course back in college. Even without that, both myself and Alan just stared at each other for almost 30 seconds in complete amazement at the stupidity of that statement. But truthfully, the part that worries me the most is the number of people I have told this story and their reactions. Almost no one I have told has thought that something was wrong with that statement.

The standard answer to my story has been: “So it tastes like a blue slushie without the ice”. If you take the intention of what the kid was trying to get across, but that is not what he said. He basically stated that it tasted like a BLUE! Not a blue drink, not a blue insert something here, but a BLUE!

All I am going to leave this post with is a request that people please start thinking before they talk, and actually say what they mean.

The first site in years…

It’s been about 4 years since I have had my own personal website, and given the deal I got on hosting for the site, I had to do it. This will be the home of my musings and mental dumping ground for my ideas. I just put the site together tonight with Wordpress and have a few things around here for my to-do list.

  • What I’m watching on DVD– Via Netflix
  • iTunes now playing plug-in
  • Photo Gallery

I realize it isn’t all that impressive, but hey, it’s a start. Besides this is my personal home and I am sure will become my place for brushing up on my rusty PHP and getting much more mySQL knowledge. Both of which will be very helpful in a few of the projects I currently have planned. But you’ll just have to wait on that now won’t you?

And before you say anything, yes I realize that the template is generic and I took it from a template site, but I am not a graphic type person, so deal.
