What is this crap?

So I downloaded and watched Crash the other day, since I had heard all these great things about the movie but wasn’t sure if it was worth spending money on. Thank God I didn’t waste a cent on this thing. One of the best movies of 2004 my ass!

This movie is just straight out predictable through and through. From the first moment to the last, there is never a surprise, never a twist. If you just watch and listen everything is obvious, even the “miraculous” portions of the movie. Supposedly this has been called a treatment of racism in today’s society, and how so many lives can interact and force changes on each other. But this is the fatal flaw of this movie, never once are you ever given a chance to care an iota for any single character in this movie. This movie has no ability to illicit any feeling for any of the characters. Even the little girl of the locksmith, who is the sweet innocent little angel of the movie, left no feeling of attachment or caring for her character.

To put it bluntly, everyone in the movie could have been killed by some horrific fashion and I wouldn’t have cared. Thank god I only wasted two hours of my time and not any money on this horrid film. These types of films are why Hollywood is scared of the internet and things like Bittorrent. If that wasn’t around I might have actually wasted 3 days of quality movie time with Netflix to actually “rent” this film. That’s what they really want, is for us to be stuck with these horrible movies and no way for us to know before we get invested in it if we’ll like it or not. At least most software programs come with a trial period. BAH!
