Yard’s Brewing Company - Tavern Ale

The beer of the night, Yard’s Brewing Company’s Tavern Ale. Mostly picked this up because the brewer has enough balls to put the Founding Fathers on the labels of their bottles, so either they really are good, or they are just that full of themselves, either way they deserve a six pack of my consumption. Not even done the first bottle and I can already say that I am astounded at the amazing quality of this fine Ale. Smooth all the way through from the time it hits the lips till you swallow. No aftertaste, no bitterness, just pure smooth beer goodness. Oh, and did I mention, 8% alcohol by volume! I might be a little loopy by the time I finish this review. The flavor is quite good, very mellow but distinctive, the website notes that the Thomas Jefferson Tavern Ale has honey in it, which would most likely explain the amazing flavor.

It’s a bit expensive as I paid $8.49 for the six pack, but would be very well worth it on special occassions. I will be buying this again after my end of year beer experimentation. Do yourself a HUGE favor and pick a six of this up from your local beer store soon!
