Housekeeping
So I got lots done this weekend, setup the kid’s PC finally, including this nifty free content filter, Naomi, that seems to work pretty well. I mean granted, they are only two and four, so I’m not too worried about them finding porn, but even random urls can bring up the strangest things these days. Mostly keeping their computer running free software packages, they won’t be using it enough to warrant paying for anything. Got a couple of used computers cleaned off and prepped and put up on Craigslist along with a 2×512 DDR400 set I had lying around. Couple “free” dollars for me. =D
Downloaded the finally completed Crucified Dreams. Now I just need to find some time to actually play it. I might setup a server for it on one of my boxes and just let it run. Many thanks to Afterglow for completing this for me finally (after all these years). I’m waiting to see the poor bastards at DW do the /newstuff… of course won’t ever compare to our release+2 hours review of GothicDM2 way back in 1998.
I got around to upgrading Wordpress to version 2.03 today as well. Doesn’t seem anything major on the surface, but it’s working… most important part right there.
I was also accepted into the Google Picasa Web Album test today as well. I’m going to start loading pictures later tonight (maybe) and see what I think. If things work well, I’m definately dumping Flickr. Why pay (not that I am yet) for a service when you can get one with a really nice photomanger program as well for free? So maybe I’ll have a review up of the service later this week if I find the time.
Other than that, I just need to get around to reloading my laptop which has just gotten all sorts of messed up recently and BSOD’ed on me five times yesterday. This is going to be a fun chore to say the least… tons of software on this thing. *sighs* But when it’s my test bed for a lot of stuff, can’t say I’m the least bit surprised.
