So I started putting together a little primer on the interrelations of DNS and SMTP today for work. Having started the outline I am finding it hard to come up with a simple and short way of showing the important details of how these two systems work together without rambling on forever. It’s interesting to try and pull something together that will be beneficial to our group since the skill sets vary so greatly. We’ve got guys that are everything from a Desktop Tech to Network Engineers and everything in the middle, so finding good common group that won’t confuse the less skilled people while not boring the guys who already know this stuff is tough.
Hopefully once I’m done I’ll be able to re-release it to the general public (once some stuff is changed… I’m using internal company info to develop this to make it relevant to the guys… so that would have to be changed). Who knows, maybe one day someone out there will find it useful. If anybody has any thoughts on things that should be included in this document please feel free to let me know, I want to make sure I don’t miss out on anything here.
