Is this a sign that AOL has gotten a clue, or just amazing luck on the part of Kaspersky? AOL is now distributing a basic version of Kaspersky Antivirus for free under the moniker “Active Virus Shield”. Stripped of some of it’s next gen features, it still gives the user a power antivirus engine for Free.

I for one am rather shocked at this partnership, as I never through I would ever see anything like this come from AOL of all places. You can download the new product from http://www.activevirusshield.com, while the full FAQ from Kaspersky is available here. Either way, solid move on AOL’s part and who knows, Kaspersky might become a real player to put the fear into McAfee and Symantec.

Well, we signed our son up for Pre-K today… makes me feel old. Finally having a kid starting school, just amazes me. Never thought when I was younger that I’d ever end up having kids, let alone have one going in to school. Should be an interesting experience, I’ve always figured that I’d end up being “that” parent that all the teachers hate.

I have a habbit of being a not-nice person to people if we don’t quite see eye to eye. So I see many confrontations over the next 14 years (add 2 for our daughter) with the teachers over the years. Should be fun.

And only a week to go till his first day. Hopefully he’ll make lots of friends over the course of this year… doesn’t really have any around here. Of course I’m not sure if I want him to make lots of friends cause the area that feeds into the school he goes to is a little less than desirable. =(

Performed the WP 2.0.4 upgrade just now since I finally moved today. All seems well, verified all my old posts are accessible, and everything just seems peachy. DNS for my email has moved over to the new site as well, and the forwards I setup are working as one expects, so all is good!

Notmyblog.com is all moved in to it’s new home and up and running. I want to thank 1&1 for the great hosting over the past 18 months or so, and my move has nothing to do with them. It’s just an offer for FREE hosting is just too good to pass up. If you guys notice any issues with the site please let me know.

Off to cancel my 1&1 account now…

So we moved over this past weeked, major pain, NEVER doing it again. Next time I’m paying someone to do it for me. Still have crap everywhere around here, and it’s driving me nuts. Next job, moving the website here to a private host. Save me a hundred bucks a year… granted, that doesn’t really offset the additional $150/month I’m paying for our new place. So look for the site to be down maybe this weekend or early next week while the DNS does it’s thing.
