Finally fixed a real minor bug that had all the sites on the host server I’m on respond with the “default” site if you didn’t use the www subdomain. All good now.

Both of the above should return the blog now. I really should have fixed this sooner.

Symantec Bashing At Its Finest

So I downloaded the trial versions of Norton 2007 (IS and AV) with the thought of loading them on my VM test box and seeing how they stack up performance wise. Not really interested in protection stats, I just wanted to see how bloated the Norton 2007 products are, as it seems every year the bloat gets much much worse.

So I started the install of Norton AV 2007 about 45 minutes ago and it hasn’t finished yet. This is utterly retarded. NOD32 installs in about 15 seconds (doing a silent install) on my VM, and it runs quicker than most peoples PCs in general. The host box is a Pentium D 3.0GHz, with 2GB RAM (512 dedicated to this VM) and Windows x64. So it’s no slouch. At this rate all I can say is thank goodness the Norton Removal Tool has added 2007 to the list of Norton products it can make go away.

At this point I think it’s safe to say I won’t be testing out NIS.

Acumen Nation - Anticore

Well, the new Acumen Nation CD, Anticore showed up all signed and purty with it’s T-Shirt last night. Got the disc ripped and into iTunes, and gave it half a listen while working on some projects last night. Sounding good, but feels strange as the machines are very near non-existant, something I’m not used to from the Acumen gang. Either way, go pick the disc up along with the shirt for the great value of $25 and enjoy some brand new crack.

Full review will be updated here in the next day or so when I have time to really dig into the tunes.
