Boredom and Random PC = New DNS Box

I got really bored today and decided I was going to take an old Pentium 3 I had laying around and build out an Ubuntu Server box to run DNS, DHCP and a few other little functions on my home LAN. So far so good. I got DNS going and functioning as it should for all the boxes on my network, and I got around to setting up Samba so I can use that extra 40GB of free space on the box for something. What? I’m still not sure yet, but I’ll figure it out.

The box is now headless and KB/Mouseless and sits behind my desk to be fully controlled via Putty on my Windows box. Over time I’m sure I’ll find more uses for my little box, but in the meantime we’ll see how she does at her first couple of tasks.
